A “Cruising Club”, not a “Yacht Club”.

The Puget Sound Cruising Club was formed in 1973, to bring together people interested in local and offshore cruising, sharing stories, pictures, and sailing experiences. We sail together, learn together and help each other out. We have a monthly meeting on the third Friday of each month, except July and August, when we are out cruising. Since April 2020 we have been holding these meetings over Zoom video.

Meetings generally consist of a short business meeting, followed by a presentation of some aspect of cruising, a travelogue or tech-talk. Guests are always welcome! A $5 meeting donation helps cover club costs. A lifetime membership to the club costs $50 and entitles you to a club burgee.

PSCC plans local cruises on the weekend following the meeting. These trips are generally within easy cruising distance of Seattle, and generally involve a shared meal or two. You’re welcome to join us by boat (or car when destination is road accessible). Raft-up, anchor on your own, or take a slip (where available). We have a couple races every year, but there is no prize for first place.  We are after all, a cruising club.

There is a great network of cruisers, with all experience levels, working behind the scenes to make the club run smoothly. Please volunteer to help – you will get more out of the club than you can put in! Contact the club leadership team to talk about volunteer opportunities. Thank you!

The cruising club uses a discreet email-list to send out updates about events, and discuss sailing topics. If you’re interested in that service, introduce yourself to the Commodore at a Club meeting, and one of our moderators will invite you to join. – Welcome aboard!
